Rei and Asuka

This is a bit of a bonus blog entry for Rei and Asuka.
Pretty much just because I love them so much lol! So there won't be much in the way of reviewing, just showing off the figures together :)

Butt buddies! lol! :D Asuka is just slightly taller!

Size comparison. Rei and Asuka standing next to Invisible Woman.
For a bit of a size comparison, I've put them next to Invisible Woman, made by Kotobukiya but also designed by Shunya Yamashita.
Rei and Asuka are made by Yamato and stand 1/6th scale (about 25-26cm)
Invisible Woman is a part of Kotobukiya's bishoujo range (which I own a lot of.) She's 1/7th scale and about 23cm.
For other figure size comparisons, check this blog out.

Ok so the other thing I mentioned in Rei and Asuka's reviews is that I think the first figure of Rei I owned was a bootleg. I didn't really pay too much attention because I'd had her for years, it wasn't until I had Asuka next to her I thought she must be a bootleg.

Here's some pics:
I don't know for sure because the new version of Rei I got isn't the same. On the left is #025 and right #015
The first thing I noticed was how good the paint job was on the new one (#025) in comparison to the one I've had a few years (#015.) I think even with a second version being created, there wouldn't have been that drastic of a change between quality.

Everything about the old figure seems to scream bootleg to me. If someone else owns the #015 version, let me know!!
The PVC is bad, the paint job is shit, some details haven't even been painted. I know there were flaws with the #015 version that they fixed in the #025 version 2, but I don't think the flaws were this bad.

The old one is even on more of a lean! This can't be right!
Even from these photos, I'm so glad I bought the #025 version 2 of Rei! She's SO much better, and matches Asuka far better! So for now I've left the old one with my fiancé, he likes it anyway. Just would be nice to know if she's legit or not!
