Mass Effect 2 Scale Replica of the Normandy – Cerberus Version Review

At the end of last year my fiancé (huge fan of the Mass Effect video game series) purchased a scale
replica of the Normandy, the main ship from the game.

Space ships don’t usually interest me too much, but figures and models of game and anime-related
stuff do, so I was pretty keen to see this myself. It’s been sitting it its box for a while but I decided
to open it up today to have a good look. My first impressions were that it’s packed really well, with
polystyrene packaging that fills the box. It would be really safe if you had it shipped to you!

Snug fit packaging!

When I opened the polystyrene shell, you see the ship and base sitting separately. The base is nice,
in a plain black with rubber feet for grip.
The model itself is very detailed for the size; it has all the logos, and a bit of shading to make it look
real. Because it’s a full metal model, it’s fairly weighty as well. It won’t blow over if you have it on
display anywhere.

No instructions needed for assembly.

Not huge but very nice details for the size.

Ready for display!

Size wise it isn’t overly large (at approx. 17cm) but it also didn’t cost a great deal either (sneaky
fiancé got it while it was on special and also had a $10 voucher, so he managed to get it for $30
instead of $50.)

Even lots of details on the bottom of the ship.

A cool little collectible that won’t break your wallet, is well made and would look cool on any Mass
Effect fans shelf!

Into Mass Effect stuff? Also check out Liara and the official Art book.

  1. I just bought this for $800, only one available on the net. Nice replica, thanks for the review.
