DC Poison Ivy Bishoujo Figure

A few more figures arrived for me today, one of those being Poison Ivy. I wasn't too sure about this one, even looking at preview images. When I got her out of the box, I was glad I added her to the list of figures I own!

Like all of the other Bishoujo figures, she was packed really well and there was no damage to the figure in shipping. My first impression was that; although she isn't too tall; she's wide! She has a very wide stance, and possibly the biggest base in the range. She's completely assembled ready for display, screwed onto the base.

Between the original artwork and the sculpt, there isn't much difference. In the art work she has flowers throughout all of her hair, but I can see why Kotobukia decided to edit them out, only keeping a few little ones around her face. With all her hair, it would have been hard to make it so flowy and flower covered. Her stance and even the vines are very close to the art work.

Lots of detail for this one!
Vines, vines and more vines!
Poison Ivy has a huge amount of hair. Her hair blows away all competition with the other Bishoujo figures. It's also nicely detailed, with lots of strands, and curls. The one thing they haven't done with her hair that most other figures have, is clear hair tips. The ends get lighter, but they've stayed away from using clear plastic. Perhaps the volume of her hair meant it wasn't possible, or the amount of other detail they'd already added.

Thick flowing hair.
Very nice contrast between the forest green and the bright red of her hair.

Ivy also has a nicely shaped bum. Not too revealing.
One thing I did find with this figure is; because she has so much hair; it became quite difficult to photograph her face. It was tricky to capture her from different angles and still include her face.
Her costume is well done, sexy but not overly revealing. Good mix to have. I'm glad her cleavage wasn't over the top, it really wouldn't have needed it.

Another thing I enjoy about Poison Ivy is that no matter where you look, there are leaves. On her head, suit, boots, arm vines and not to mention on the base. Small detail but if the leaves weren't there, it would be a very flat figure ( I know I keep talking about details, but there are a lot of them!)

Her face peeping out from behind her hair.
Ivy is different to the other figures with her soft green skin. She really stands out from the group because she looks so green! There is a good mix of different greens too. From her skin, to her costume, and the base even has different greens in it. It's the small parts coming together that really make Poison Ivy look so impressive.

Looking down, you can really see how many vines there are for the base!
The little mouths on the vines look quite evil.. and happy. Maybe hoping for a dinner of Batman?
Who could resist Poison Ivy's charm? Just don't kiss her, you'll end up dead.
Over all she really is an amazing figure. They've out done themselves on this one. Her hair, the beautifully coloured skin, and the detailed vine base come together beautifully.
I only wish she looked a tiny bit more evil. She looks a little relaxed. This is a really tiny fact to be picking on though.
If you're into Batman, you'll enjoy this figure. And if you aren't sold, there's also a Harley Quinn figure coming soon if you prefer her!
